The sixth annual Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet was held at the Fannin County High School cafeteria in Blue Ridge, Georgia on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The meal was catered by Shane’s Rib Shack of Ellijay, Georgia for the fifth consecutive year.

Several new features were added to the program at this event. A group of young men from Cub Scout Pack 432 in Epworth presented the colors and led the attendees in the Pledge to the Flag. Barbara Cheatham then led the group in the singing of the National Anthem. Following the meal, new Fannin County High School Head Football Coach Chad Cheatham spoke for a few minutes about his coaching philosophies and the prospects for the upcoming season. Chad is the son of FCSHOF member, Steve Cheatham.

The 2018 induction class consists of six individuals and one team. The individual inductees are John Carter, Keith Dockery, Tim Jabaley, Leslie Jabaley Mann, Mandy Anderson and Stephanie Scearce. The team inducted was the 1996-97 Fannin County High School Girls Basketball Team. The inductees are pictured in the same order listed (left to right). John Carter is deceased and his plaque was presented to Dot Carter, Mr. Carter’s daughter-in-law.
