2015 FCSHOF Banquet

The third annual Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet was held at the Fannin County High School cafeteria on Saturday, April 11, 2015. The attendance at the event was in excess of 250 persons. The event was catered by Shane’s Rib Shack , Ellijay GA for the second consecutive year.

2015 FCSHOF Inductees

The 2015 Hall of Fame class includes 12 individuals, including players and contributors, and one team. The individuals inducted were Dot Tipton Hardeman, Fred Ganues Sr., Don Carter, Ron Jabaley, Robert Guthrie, Mike Ballew, Clarence Franklin, Tony Farmer, Gary Mealer, Julie Mealer Seabolt, Chad Galloway and Stacy Parris. The 1998-99 Fannin County High School girls basketball team that won the Class AA State Championship was also inducted. Players, managers and coaches of the team were Melissa Weeks, Melissa Flowers, Roxie Reed, Stacy Parris, Leah Nelson, Tina Grice, Betty Jean Raper, Amanda Newton, Rachael Nicholson, Jamie Thomas, Amy Bundy, Jessica Holloway, Cindy Williams, Leslie Taylor, Crystal Jeffers, Christie Kay, Assistant Coach Eddie Payne and Head Coach Johnny Farmer.

The introduction of each inductee included a brief oral biography followed by a video presentation that featured each inductee and the team. Each inductee received a plaque that includes a picture of the inductee and a biographical sketch of each. An identical plaque will be added to the FCSHOF exhibit at the Fannin County Recreation Center in Blue Ridge. Each inductee and team member also received a DVD that includes all the individual and team videos.

2015 FCSHOF Special Guests

Several special guests attended the event and were introduced to the entire group. These guests included former coaches Kenneth Wood and Wayne ‘Smoky’ Brooks and FCSHOF founder Denson Hamby. Members of the 2013 and 2014 induction classes who were in attendance were also recognized.
