2014 FCSHOF Induction Banquet

The second annual Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet was held at the Fannin County High School Cafeteria on Saturday, April 12, 2014. The attendance at the event was approximately 300 persons.

2014 FCSHOF INDUCTEES

The 2014 Hall of Fame class includes 13 individuals, including athletes and coaches, and one team. The individuals inducted were Wayne Black, Tom Bowling, Steve Cheatham, Freddy Cook, Jr., Gene Crawford, Steve J. Fry, Rene Godfrey, Clyde Henry, Ashley Herendon, Lynn Phillips, Carla Sisson Boutin, Travis Summers and Jim Woodall. In addition to the 13 individuals, the State Champion 1992-93 Fannin County High School girls basketball team was inducted. Members, managers and coaches of the team were Jennifer Cooley, Tina Davis Dockery, April Pack, Julie Mealer Seabolt, Suzianne Green Pass, Shannon Dillinger York, Leslie Jabaley Mann, Angela McDaris Jones, Malissa Clore Annis, Renee Pelfrey Davis, Amy Green Mason, Melissa Holler Patton, Melissa Pierce, Angie Taylor, Tonya Walker Taylor, Katie Collins Taylor, Assistant Coach Carla Sisson Boutin and Head Coach Johnny Farmer.

The introduction of each inductee included a brief oral biography followed by a video presentation featuring each inductee and the team. The inductees made a few remarks and were presented with a plaque that includes a picture of the individuals and a biographical sketch of each. An identical plaque will be added to the FCSHOF exhibit at the Fannin County Recreation Center. Each inductee and team member also received a DVD that includes all of the individual and team videos.

2014 FCSHOF Banquet Special Guests

Among the special guests in attendance were former Georgia Tech basketball All American Roger Kaiser and former University of Tennessee All American football player Bill Emendorfer. Kaiser also had a long coaching career at West Georgia College and at Life College. Kaiser attended to honor inductee Tom Bowling, who was coached by Kaiser as a freshman at Georgia Tech. Emendorfer is currently the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Executive Director. He attended to honor inductee Jim Woodall, who coached Emendorfer at Cleveland Tennessee High School.
